Assignment 1 - old and new

My interest in photography began when I was 13. I saw a PBS special on Ansel Adams and having been brought up in the outdoors, I was thrilled with his work. My studies in Environmental Science have influenced the way I look at landscapes. I'm attempting, and hoping to continue to develop, a style that reflects the connectivity (and sometimes discontinuity) of every element of the landscape.

I admire Yann Arthus-Betrand's arial photography in which he depicts the influences of human actions on the landscape.

Photoshop Ch 3 Summary

This chapter provides a nice, simple and well explained outline of the the photoshop interface. It discusses the purposes of layers, masks and includes much information on how to use the program most efficiently while editing. It does the same for Bridge and Lightroom. This chapter however does not give tedious lists of shortcuts rather, it suggests the best way to become familiar with the fastest methods of editing is to play with the programs (novel idea!). This chapter was a nice read to fill in the gaps in my photoshop interface knowledge. If I had not used these programs before, it would be a rather essential read.
